Pleasantly surprised......

So, I saw this girl reading "The Geisha Secret" in a local Starbucks. I was immediately struck by how she appeared to be so absorbed by this book. So, that observation along with the inviting cover, led to my asking her about it. We spent the better part of an hour discussing the Geisha Secret and afterward I was so curious that I went and ordered my own copy. Besides, we've planned a date and what could make for a better ice breaker than to share our observations. You see ladies, the book also serves as a conversation starter..lol

Anyway, I received my copy and am very impressed with how the author was able to pack so much useful information into such a concise read. As a guy who lives in NYC and does a bit of dating, I admit being drawn to the type of behaviors described in this book. I'll also admit that after discussing the chapters with my male friends, not one of us could recall any recent encounters with women who demonstrated these traits. So, if you want to separate yourself from the pack, then this might be a good place to start.

For example, we are constantly bombarded by the reminder that things should be bigger and louder and boastful..it's the "way" we're conditioned to believe we ought to behave. However, I'm totally driven toward the more subtle feminine side..so, if I had to point out any one ritual that would attract a red blooded guy like me, it would be that of subtle sex appeal.

As many know, the Geisha is a practiced artist who has a fine tuned sense of discovery.
She's a mystery, well read, delicate, aware, feminine and experienced in the art of both attracting and more importantly, maintaining the attraction of her chosen man.

So, if the opinion of a guy matters, then I say get this book, stand out from the crowd and start attracting the man that you've always imagined you'd be with.

The Geisha Secret is an original dating book that mixes the ancient secrets of femininity, elegance, and intellectual and artistic achievement of Japanese Geisha adapting them to the dating needs of modern women.

It does not advice you playing games or changing yourself but bringing out and developing your femininity, your talent, your virtues and your intellect. The advice is well grounded, sensible and good for any woman, as advises you to keep your health and beauty rituals, to cultivate your mind and spirit, to be a good humble person, to have a mind of your own, being independent, knowledgeable and intellectually cultivated, and to treat your man as a man and with the same respect that you want from him.

Much of the advice is already known but the Geisha connection makes the book really entertaining and a bit different from other dating books.

The only down is that offers a model of submissive woman in which she does all the work to attract and keep the man and the relationship.

Such a fun, clever book

I picked up this book to read on a flight and what a great call that was. It's well written with some very insightful advice, but more than anything, it's an easy and MEMORABLE read. I find myself referring to chapters within the book often and have found that guess what... Hanako's guidance really works. Let's just say my relationship has never been better. I bought this as a holiday gift for a few of my girlfriends (married) and they felt the same way: great read, awesome pointers that seem so obvious when spelled out on paper - basically a witty "guide to" book that you actually want to read!!
